Career

Fiona Ashworth is a leading personal injury practitioner, specialising in chronic pain cases. Over the last 15 years, Fiona has developed specialisms in Chronic Pain Syndromes, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Somatoform Pain Disorders, Fibromyalgia and Conversion Disorders. These conditions are often little understood and extremely challenging. Fiona has built up a deep knowledge of these chronic pain cases, working with medical experts of all different specialisms. She has been involved in hundreds of such cases, both at first instance and on appeal, acting for both Claimant and Defendant. She has lectured extensively over the country, run seminars and was invited to attend the Pain Summit at Westminster. She is considered to be a leading expert on chronic pain. Fiona sat on the Legal Services Commission Appeal tribunal for 15 years and was an external examiner for the City Law School and MMU. She was appointed as a Recorder sitting in crime in 2009 and in civil in 2014.
